The Future of the Mayflower Journal and the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine

The Fall 2018 issue of the Mayflower Journal will be the final edition of this publication. The Mayflower Society has decided to discontinue this publication in order to reunite the Journal’s content with the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine, in the same way it has been traditionally published since 1935.

Current subscribers of the Mayflower Journal have multiple options for applying their unfulfilled Mayflower Journal subscription proceeds:

  • Because Members receive the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine as a free member benefit, Members may choose to apply their unfulfilled subscription proceeds to a one time unrestricted gift to the Society which would represent a tax deductible charitable donation; OR they may request a refund in full.

  • For non-members, unfulfilled Mayflower Journal subscription proceeds may be applied to a new subscription to the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine at a rate of $24 (plus additional shipping charges for those outside the continental US) per year for 4 quarterly magazines; OR they may choose to apply their unfulfilled subscription proceeds to a one-time unrestricted gift to the Society which would represent a tax deductible charitable donation; OR they may request a refund in full;

Please provide direction to us of your decision and we will take the appropriate action by calling our Membership Manager, Georgi Hess by emailing her at Membership@theMayflowerSociety.org.

We thank our subscribers for their interest in the Mayflower Journal and hope that you will choose to follow our continuing research work through your subscription to the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine! If you did not previously have a Journal subscription but would like to subscribe to the Mayflower Quarterly Magazine, click here to download the order form.

The Mayflower Quarterly Magazine will now reflect a similar pattern of content as the original Mayflower Quarterly, while maintaining the larger size and color. By doing so, we are expanding our benefits to our members and will be expanding the number of pages. It will have a new look as we change the format to better reflect our members’ needs.

With the expanding content and page numbers, the Editor is looking to broaden the editorial committee with two or three additional GSMD members. If you have experience in editing and proofing, or with Pilgrim history and genealogy and are interested in volunteering your time, please contact Susan Roser at MQMEditor@theMayflowerSociety.org.
