These commemorative events will tell the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims and their journey from Leiden, Holland and Plymouth, England to modern-day Provincetown and, finally, Plymouth Colony in 1620.
GSMD has many exciting plans for 2020, starting with participation in an event that will be witnessed by an estimated 50 million people worldwide– the Rose Bowl Parade on January 1, 2020. Keep an eye out for the Mayflower float!

There is even more to look forward to in September 2020, from commemorative celebrations in Provincetown, Plymouth, and Boston to the 42nd Mayflower Congress. Events include the Mayflower II Anniversary Gala in Provincetown; a reenactment of the signing of the Mayflower Compact; a what is sure to be memorable Pilgrim Progress through Boston, culminating in the official State House salute to the 400th anniversary; and the Mayflower Society’s 400th Anniversary Black Tie Gala, in addition to tours and other activities.
As we prepare for 2020, GSMD is honored to partner with the following organizations: Plymouth 400, Provincetown 400, Mayflower 400, Visit Britain, Leiden 2020 and the sovereign Tribes of the Wampanoag Nation.
We hope GSMD members will join us for some or all of these events next year– help honor our Pilgrim ancestors and their legacy!
