The Mayflower Society uses many abbreviations on its website and in the Quarterly. What do they all mean?

President Woodrow Wilson asked for a declaration of war against Germany before a joint session of Congress on April 2, 1917, and both the Senate (April 4th) and House (April 6th) passed War resolutions. Americans quickly rallied to the cause, and joined in the popular chorus of George M. Cohan's hit song "Over There" that "We won't come back till it's over, Over there."
During this tumultuous period in our history, the Governor General of the Mayflower Society was General Leonard Wood--a Medal of Honor winner who had a distinguished career with the United States Army.

Ms. June Ayres of Worcester, MA recently donated a folk painting of the Pilgrim Embarkation from Plymouth on 6 September 1620.

Rendered by artist Albert E. Clayton of Plymouth, England for the 350th anniversary in 1970, June purchased it while on a return trip to Plymouth, where she grew up.
