Support the Mayflower Society

The Mayflower Pilgrims are America’s family. The Mayflower Society depends on the generosity and support of our friends around the world to carry out our mission. We invite you to help us continue reaching out to share the principles of civil and religious liberty that the Mayflower Pilgrims brought to America and to tell their story — a legacy that means so much to us and to future generations.

You may wish to make an unrestricted gift to help the General Society with our most urgent projects, or you may choose to donate to a specific area of work listed below.

Unrestricted Gifts
An unrestricted gift to our ‘General Fund’ typically provides aid to our most urgent projects. In the past, our unrestricted funds have contributed to additional Mayflower Lineage Match staff and matching grant costs for our Feasibility Study of the Mayflower Society campus. Giving an unrestricted gift and supporting our operating facilities truly provides the foundation our Society needs to uphold our mission and values.

Mayflower Society Campus Endowment Fund
Gifts towards the Endowment fund help preserve, protect, and interpret The Mayflower Society House property, the GSMD Research Library, its surrounding gardens and a sizeable collection of decorative arts, antiques and artifacts of significance not only relating to the Pilgrims, but to the historic town of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Donating to the Campus Endowment fund also benefits the collection and maintenance of research materials in our library relating to the history, culture and genealogy of the Pilgrims and their descendants.

Mayflower Families Silver Books
A gift to our Silver Books further supports the research and publication of authoritative biographical, genealogical and historical information relating to the Pilgrims and their descendants by professional genealogists and historians for our acclaimed publications.

Pilgrim Academic Research Award Fund
To recognize scholarly contribution and advancement in Mayflower Pilgrim related research, the Annual Mayflower Pilgrim Academic Research Award was established in 2014. Gifts will allow GSMD to increase the award amount enhancing its national exposure.

GSMD Scholarship Program
The General Society of Mayflower Descendants Scholarship Program annually offers one of each: $6000, $4000, $3000 and $2000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Mayflower descendants. A gift towards the Scholarship Program supports our ability to provide aid to younger descendants who will be attending a four-year college or university or two-year community college.

2020 Commemoration Legacy Book
In just a few short years, the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims’ landing will be upon us. As descendants of the very souls who established Plymouth Colony, the General Society is compiling a Legacy Book in honor of our members and their families. A donation of $2020 or more to the 2020 fund will secure your family's place in our Legacy Book.  Click here to learn more about GSMD and the 2020 Commemoration >>

Mayflower Genealogical DNA Project
In today’s world and in the future, the study of ancestry will require partnering genealogy with the study of DNA. Through generous donors, GSMD will be able to grow along with the science of DNA. Supporting the DNA endowment will be able to cover the cost of sending GSMD’s geneticist to Member Societies to educate our membership about DNA, help counsel and interpret DNA results for GSMD members and enhance the Mayflower DNA Project by providing funds for needed DNA test from descendants who cannot afford them. Click here for more information on the Mayflower DNA Project, contact information and how to participate. >>
